Parkmount Financial Partners
I'm Joe Boughan, CFP®, RICP®.I started Parkmount Financial Partners after years in national wealth management, where I saw how product pressure and siloed departments kept advisors from looking at a client's whole picture. Taxes, investments, estate planning, and retirement income were too often handled separately, if at all. Parkmount is my answer to that: an independent, fee-only fiduciary firm, paid only by the clients I serve.
Many of the people I work with are corporate executives and senior professionals, and their families, who are getting close to retirement or have recently made the move. A meaningful share of their wealth is often tied up in RSUs, stock options, ESPP shares, or deferred compensation. The question on their minds is how to turn a career of paychecks and equity into income that holds up for the rest of their lives.
Our work together typically covers equity compensation and concentrated stock decisions, retirement income and withdrawal planning, annual tax return review and Roth conversion analysis, and ongoing investment management, with assets held at Charles Schwab. I also help coordinate Social Security, insurance, and estate planning so the pieces fit together.
I keep my practice intentionally small, so you work directly with me, not a rotating team. We meet for two formal reviews each year, plus working sessions whenever something comes up: a vesting date, a job change, a rough market, or a question that's on your mind.
I'm based in Scituate and work with clients across Boston's South Shore, Greater Boston, and virtually. The first step is a free intro call, just a conversation to see if we're a good fit.

Frequently Asked Questions
There are no firm minimums; however, for new clients, I generally work with households that have at least $750,000 in investable assets. I do make exceptions in some situations, so if you're close or your situation is a little different, it's still worth a conversation. We also have a fixed-fee project model, which is completely separate from ongoing wealth management. For this, anyone is eligible regardless of assets because it involves no investment management and is focused on financial planning only. This program is typically priced around $6,500, but ranges from $5,000 to $8,000 based on our available time and the complexity of the situation.
Yes. As a fee-only registered investment adviser and a CFP® professional, I'm required to act in your best interest when providing advice. Because I don't sell products, I have no commissions influencing my recommendations.
For clients in our ongoing assets under management program (our wealth management program that includes financial planning with investment management), your assets are held at an independent qualified custodian. We use Charles Schwab to provide investment management services.
Many of my clients are corporate executives, senior professionals, and their families who are either mid-career and looking to set themselves up for the future, or nearing retirement or recently retired. Many have significant 401(k) or other retirement account balances they have accumulated, and they are looking to understand these assets and position them well for the future. Frequently, I work with people with equity compensation such as RSUs, stock options, ESPP shares, or deferred compensation. They want help either maximizing their savings strategy to create the strongest future trajectory or, for those nearing retirement, turning those assets into a sustainable retirement income plan.
I'm fee-only, which means I'm paid only by my clients. My advisory fee is typically around 1% of assets under management, and may be lower for clients with assets north of $1M. This covers ongoing investment management and financial planning, two formal reviews each year, and working meetings in between as needed. I don't earn commissions or receive payments from product providers.
